Back in 1998, when working for the Markle Foundation’s Web White & Blue effort we had a simple concept. Declare a day to celebrate and promotion election content on the Internet. It generated extensive media coverage and gave folks in the trenches of e-democracy/e-politics a chance to celebrate their efforts.

Let’s broaden that concept to all democracy-related content providers from governments to candidates to bloggers and media. While it may seem like most people in your circles use the Internet for democratic/political purposes, the potential (and reality) is not that well known among the general public. Just like like TV Turn Off Week (I am thinking about proposed a No E-mail Day).


Young African Activist Summit, Feb 2007

From Pochi Tamba: I am writing to inform you about the Young African Activist' Summit that is holding in Cameroon in February 2007. The theme for this year's pioneer event is "partnerships for sustainable development", how we African activists can efficiently share information and resources among ourselves to better achieve our goals.
