Do Volunteering by Teaching in India with SHAKEHANDS - International Volunteer Program

Teaching Program is going on in Government Primary Schools in rural areas of different state of India. The standard of teaching in these schools is usually very poor. They study in the absence of teaching aids and at many places students have to study in the open. In such schools teaching is only restricted to the textbooks which some times are also not available to them. Students do not get an opportunity to explore their skills and they are not able to increase their IQ as well as their general knowledge is also very limited, especially for English subject.

Whether you are coming to volunteering during your gap year, career break or an extended holiday, you will assist in a wide variety of chosen subjects and activities, including English, Mathematics, Arts and Sports.
The impact you have on the lives of your students will be obvious and long-lasting, but you will also be part of a much larger volunteer network, which is making a really positive contribution to the wider community.

Volunteer Opportunities Teaching in Schools with SHAKE HANDS

Volunteers are placed in schools in Dharmshala (Himachal), Jaipur and Jiliya (Rajasthan). Through our teaching project the language can put them in touch with the rest of the world. Volunteer will have a role to play on one of our teaching projects and you will be able to make a difference.

Our important aspect is that if you are coming to us directly; as individual / couple / groups you will also notice that our program cost is considerably lower than what your other/home country agency is offering. Without an extra agency in the chain of administration it is possible to give the individual volunteers the same low cost fee as we offer the agencies.
